Roo Is Certain

I can’t even say the word “truck” in my house anymore. Not unless I want chaos.
Say it once and the pack explodes. Paws scrambling. Tails thumping. The whole room lit up like I just rang a dinner bell.
But Roo?
Roo’s different.
You can say “Truck.” “Ride.” “Outside.”
Nothing.
But if I say, “I’m going to work…”
That’s it. He’s already on his feet.
That’s how this photo happened. Me, trying to sneak out. Roo, already halfway in the truck.
I try the garage. Roo’s waiting. I cut to the front door. He beats me there too. No barking. No whining. Just quiet, focused presence.
He positions himself like it’s already decided. And truthfully? It kind of is.
Because Roo doesn’t just hope to go. He’s not guessing. He’s not waiting for an invitation.
He’s certain.
And he’s determined.
But more than that, He takes action.
Every single time.
He watches. He listens. He moves. Not just once. Not just when it’s convenient. He shows up. Steady. Consistent. Intentional.
I’ve read a lot of Tony Robbins over the years. Attended seminars. Taken notes. Sat in rooms with people of every age and story. And this moment, this quiet, strategic move from Roo, reminds me of something Tony teaches:
Certainty is a state. It’s not loud. It’s not hype. It’s the deep, inner knowing that says, “This is where I’m meant to be.”
But even that isn’t enough.
Because belief without action That’s just potential waiting to wither.
There’s an old saying, if you want to reach the island, you’ve got to be willing to leave the shore behind. Not recklessly. But fully.
That’s where determination comes in. The decision to stay with it. To stand where it matters. To keep showing up, even when the door doesn’t open right away.
And even then, there’s still one more piece.
You’ve got to move.
Zig Ziglar once said, “Hope is not a strategy.” He wasn’t trying to be clever. He was being honest.
Because at some point, no matter your age, your history, or your hesitation, You have to take the next step. Even a small one.
Action doesn’t have to be loud. Sometimes it’s just choosing not to wait anymore.
That’s Roo.
He doesn’t pace the floor. He doesn’t second-guess the plan. He doesn’t talk himself out of showing up.
He just stays close. Stays ready. And lets his presence do the work.
Maybe he figured out that “work” meant I’d be gone longer. Not a quick ride. Not a trip around the block. Work meant hours. Waiting. Silence.
Maybe he understood that. Maybe he just didn’t care.
Either way, he made his move.
Because he’s certain. Because he’s determined. Because he takes action.
And maybe that’s the lesson, Whether you’re just starting out or stepping into a new season of life.
Certainty says, “I was made for this.” Determination says, “I’ll stay with it.” Action says, “I’m here.”
So whatever it is for you, That quiet dream. That unspoken goal. That thing you thought might’ve passed you by
It hasn’t.
There’s still time. Still purpose. Still a door that could open.
And when it does? I hope you’re already halfway in the truck. Just like Roo.
